Sign up for each meet will be on Swimtopia prior to each meet. Swimmers will be given a deadline date to sign up for the events they wish to swim (up to three individual per swimmer): if swimmers do not sign up by the given deadline, they will not be entered into the meet. Make sure to indicate if you are available for relays.  Coaches will create relay teams.

What to bring on meet days? 

● Extra caps and goggles- you never know when they might break 

● Sunscreen- almost all meets are outside so be cautious 

● Plenty of water and sports drinks to stay hydrated 

● Snacks- some meets will last longer than others but swimmers need to be able to fuel up for their races. 

● Blanket or towels to sit on 

● Extra towels- one towel per swimmer is not enough

● A sharpie- to write events on your arm! 

Expectations for Meets:

Swimmers: 

● Always arrive at meets at least 15 minutes before warm-up starts to stretch and get ready to get in the water.

● Keep track of the order of events and when your event is coming up. Be at the heating area before each event! 

● Be respectful of the pool, deck, other team, coaches, and parents. 

● Come talk with a coach before and after each event. 

● Come ready to race and have fun! 

Some ways parents can support their swimmers! 

● Help swimmers sharpie event numbers along with what the event is on their arm! (this is always optional but is a tool a lot of swimmers use to keep track of their races! 

● Download the mobile app of SwimTopia for easy access during meets 

● Be respectful of the pool, deck, other team, coaches and parents.

● Encourage your swimmer to be at the heating area near the starting blocks when they hear “First Call” for their events.

● Help swimmers keep track of goggles and swim cap between events 

● Help swimmers keep track of the events in the meet so they get to their race on time- there will always be a white board with the events written so swimmers and families can keep track!
