Summer Swim Team
Welcome to the Stone Ridge Stingrays Swim Team. The Stingrays are a summer swim team of children ages 5-18 years old. Our coaches work on teaching correct stroke technique in all four strokes, swimming skills like dives and turns, and improving endurance. Most importantly, they emphasize teaching the value of sportsmanship and team spirit. Our fun and friendly environment encourages swimmers to develop their love for the lifelong sport of swimming.
Our swimmers compete in swim meets against other teams in the Horsetooth Summer Swim League throughout the city of Fort Collins and Loveland.
Stingrays team membership is open to the public! We welcome swimmers from neighborhoods outside of Stone Ridge. Please spread the word to encourage more to join and strengthen our team.

Overview
Goals: The main goal of this summer league swim team is to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for youth swimmers. Additional goals include building swimming skills, friendships, personal responsibility and a foundation for lifelong health through swimming.
Basic Requirements: To join the team, each swimmer must be able to swim one length of the pool in 55 seconds or less. They must be able to complete this lap without stopping or grabbing the wall or lane ropes. Swimmers must be able to complete this requirement because that is the minimum length they will swim in a meet, as well as the basis for most of the sets they will be given. Please keep in mind, swim team does not take the place of swimming lessons and swimmers need to have the endurance to swim multiple laps during their practice group. This rule is meant to ensure the safety of all of the children and if your child cannot make it across the pool, they will not benefit from the swim team.
Try it: The first two days of practice will be “try it days”. If you are not sure if your child can make it across the pool, the coach will be able to judge their ability in the first two days and will determine if the team is a good fit for them this year. "Try it" participants still need to register before the first practice to accept the participation waiver. A full refund will be given after the try it days if it is not the right fit for your swimmer.
