- How do I register? Complete the registration link found at https://splashpoolservices.com/product/swim-team-stone-ridge/ and then complete the registration link here at Swimtopia.
- What if I swim on a club team already? Club swimmers must leave club teams by May 15 to be able to compete officially in HSSL meets. Some meets may allow club swimmers to swim exhibition.
- How old does my swimmer need to be? The summer swim league is for ages 5 to 18 years old.
- What is the swim requirement to join? Swimmers should be able to swim one length of the pool freestyle, without help, in 55 seconds or less. The coach will evaluate each swimmer the first day of practice to ensure that swim team is a good fit for each swimmer.
- What is the cost? $250 paid to Splash Pool Services and $20 Team Fees per swimmer.
- What supplies will my swimmer need? Each swimmer will need a swimsuit and goggles for practice. A swim cap is highly recommended for long hair.
- Can swimmers from other neighborhoods outside of Stone Ridge join? Yes. Swimmers outside of Stone Ridge may join.
- What if I will be gone for a week? No problem! The summer swim team is flexible. There are no attendance requirements.
- Are swim meets required? No, swimmers are not required to swim at any of the meets. Swim meets are low key and fun so we do encourage swimmers to attend at least the home meet. Our coaches are great at helping swimmers feel prepared for meets.
- What if my swimmer doesn't know anyone? Joining the Stingrays Team is a great way to meet new neighbors and make friendships!
- What if my swimmer has never been on a swim team before? No problem! Most of the Stone Ridge Team is very new to being on a swim team. We're a young team and we'll help your swimmers learn how a swim team works.
- Am I required to be a parent volunteer? All swim meets run with the support and help of parent volunteers. We always ask for volunteers, but our needs are flexible. The time commitment is minimal and most parents find it quite fun to help! When we host a meet, we do need all hands on deck, so to speak.
- What day are meets? Meets are always held on Wednesdays or Saturdays throughout the season. Some weeks there are 2 meets, but this is rare.
- How long is each meet? The duration of meets vary depending on the size of participating teams. However, all meets start at 8 am and generally wrap up before noon. Small teams hosting small teams can be done in less than 3 hours. Each team is assigned a warm up time prior to the 8 am start.
